A senior delegation of creative arts professionals from the Ethiopian National Theatre has officially arrived in Mizan Aman City, located within the Bench Sheko Zone, to conduct an intensive three-day specialized training program.
The training initiative is specifically tailored for local cultural and creative practitioners, focusing on advanced methodology and execution across three core disciplines: theatre, music, and traditional choreography (dance). This program is part of the institution’s ongoing federal commitment to decentralize capacity building and sustainably empower regional artistic talent.
In tandem with the training sessions, the specialized research and study team from the Ethiopian National Theatre executed several key cultural documentation projects in the zone. The team conducted formal museum field studies, structured institutional interviews, and captured high-fidelity field audio and video recordings of local musical heritage in collaboration with the South Bench and Bench Sheko Zone cultural ensembles.
Furthermore, as a gesture of academic and institutional solidarity, the National Theatre delegation presented an official book donation to Mizan-Tepi University to enrich the institution’s research materials on Ethiopian arts and heritage management.
