Women’s Voice for Equality – ‘እምዬ ብረቷ’ on March 8

March 8/ International Women’s Day/ was celebrated with the slogan “Women’s voice for equality and prosperous Ethiopia”.

Emiye Bretuwa Theater presented guests from different institutions as well as the workers of the theater for the 115th International Women’s Day.
Dr. Mr. Bareke Tadesse, the director of the theater, who gave a welcome speech to the audience on that day, is a woman respected, her right should be respected, her voice should be heard. However, he pointed out that the feminism that is formed from our culture should be careful in practices that eat and destroy girls.
Women should come forward economically, politically and in leadership. They can and they will do. The director general stated that they are working to make 50 percent of women representation in parliament and they are leading with great success in leadership.
Fascist Italy invaded our country, in the Adwa war, Queen Taytu, Shewaseged Gedle and many other heroic mothers have remembered in their speeches what they have given to their country.
The director has pointed out that boys at home should support their mothers and should be encouraged in every home.
Women and Social Affairs Action Executive Mrs. Selamawit Zoib has given a speech on the importance of celebrating International Women’s Day March 8 with the theme “Emeye Bretwa” which was translated and prepared by the great actor Maniazewal Endeshaw.
